David Portney is a seasoned marketing and communications professional with over 15 years of experience in diverse industries, including executive recruiting and athletics. As the Stiles Associates Marketing Manager, he’s responsible for strategizing and executing all marketing initiatives to grow the Stiles brand and increase the firm’s ability to place top talent in critical roles. This includes managing the website and social media pages, content creation, email campaigns, lead development, research and various internal tasks to support the recruiting process.

Before joining Stiles Associates, David held the same title at Charles Aris Executive Search, where he advanced the firm's strategic marketing and digital initiatives. His role involved reviewing and editing materials for various platforms and collaborating with senior leaders to drive marketing efforts.

David's extensive background in sports marketing includes his tenure at the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), where he served as the Director of Marketing & Communications. He also spent time with the NFL’s New York Giants and Minor League Baseball’s Memphis Redbirds and Tri-City ValleyCats.

The Ithaca College alumnus resides in Greensboro, North Carolina with his wife and two cats. He enjoys cheering on the Boston Red Sox and getting into spirited discussions on the state of baseball.
