THE COMPANY

Our client is a wholesaler of compressed gas and party and balloon products.

THE POSITION

As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP of Supply Chain & Procurement leads the end-to-end Supply Chain function with a strong focus on strategic procurement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and executes the global and regional procurement strategy to drive transformational change across regions and improve on lead time, delivery and cost.
  • Leads the development and implementation of procurement best practices within and across the functions.
  • Develops and manages annual fiscal year budgets for procurement spend and savings in the region. Implements an integrated strategy for leveraging and optimizing procurement resources, initiatives and suppliers between the regions.
  • Oversees and guides the development of key commodity strategies in conjunction with the responsible commodity managers.
  • Oversees the management and development of the supply base and directs negotiations to create cost savings opportunities, reduce total cost of ownership of direct and indirect materials and ensure supply chain risk mitigation is achieved.
  • Leads the development and capability building of best-in-class procurement expertise. Champions and role models key talent processes including succession planning and robust people development planning.
  • Supports activities for supply chain management, including development of supplier quality improvement initiatives, supplier value add / value engineering activities and development of supplier Lean participation.
  • Provides direction to all procurement activities for transportation / logistics, including inbound materials to multiple manufacturing locations and finished good deliveries.
  • Oversees logistics contracting for freight movement, customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and business needs.
