THE POSITION
The VP of Quality will be responsible for quality through the lifecycle of the company’s products. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this cross-functional role will work closely with the Engineering, Operations and Member Services teams, providing organization-wide strategic direction for all quality standards through overseeing methods and procedures for auditing and evaluating the accuracy of the processes, products and systems. This person will own manufacturing process, identify root causes of hardware failures and opportunities for enhancements of manufacturing standards and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive continuous improvement projects with a focus on product quality, system effectiveness and quality culture.
- Participate in strategic planning and create goals for the QA / RA.
- Build and maintain a supplier quality management strategy with the highest level of quality standards, outlining processes to ensure compliance.
- Continuously drive failure analysis activities to root cause swiftly and accurately.
- Work with QA teams alongside Engineering, recommending solutions for quality improvement.
- Responsible for testing and manufacturing controls and supplier certification programs.
- With a focus on process, identify potential problems and points of friction, working to find solutions that maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Transform legacy quality assurance systems and processes – inclusive of IoT approach – vetting hardware, firmware and manufacturing controls.
- Communicate quality performance – including KPIs – and cost of quality to leadership and other business stakeholders.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering or science related field.
- Eight-plus years of Quality Engineering experience.
- Five-plus years of experience working in Electro-Mechanical product development and manufacturing.
- Experience in Lean methodologies, ISO 9001 and Process Qualification.
- Experience with Android tablet device software.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering and manufacturing best practices; design quality assurance; and risk management processes.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams as well as external procurement and supply partners.
