VP, Operations & Supply Chain -- Northeast (Closed)

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer for commercial foodservice providers.

THE POSITION

The VP, Operations & Supply Chain is responsible for providing efficient and profitable leadership to the manufacturing operation. This person will bring expertise in electronic components manufacturing, quality, planning, inventory management, procurement and logistics. All production, supply chain and quality functions, as well as both technical and manufacturing engineering support organizations report to this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set the strategy for a long-term operational plan using contemporary manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Lead and manage the manufacturing, quality and supply chain organizations.
  • Through organization, definition, planning, implementation and control, manage the execution of projects for the operation.
  • Initial and implement continuous operational improvement throughout your organization and support an effective corrective action process.
  • Provide leadership to production planning for the manufacturing facility and any outsourced assemblies.
  • Develop processes to improve inventory turns while maintaining on-time delivery and improving purchasing economies.
  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies to improve quality, reduce costs and provide scalability.
  • Work with suppliers to provide high quality, low cost and scalability to provide materials required for production efficiency.
  • Optimize operation team expenditures.
  • Ensure that projects meet specifications, target costs, schedules and approved budgets.
  • Extensively interface and collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing & Product Management, Finance, Engineering, Sourcing, Quality and Manufacturing to execute projects and provide critical status communication to all stakeholders.
  • Continually seek ways to simplify your operations and rationalize costs.
  • Attract, train and mentor an outstanding team.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or business; MBA preferred.
  • At least 10-15 years of manufacturing experience with at least five years leading a diverse group of operational and support functions including manufacturing, supply chain and quality in electronics or related discipline.
  • Grasp of the Lean tools and experience driving continuous improvement.
  • Experience with M&A integration.
  • Experience with the implementation of contemporary ERP systems necessary; M1 preferred.
  • Experience working with offshore suppliers in Asia is preferred.
