Vice President, Human Resources -- Southeast

Our client is a provider of air distribution, critical controls and noise control products.

THE POSITION

The VP of Human Resources will be a resilient and pragmatic HR Business Partner who supports all manufacturing operations across five U.S. locations. This isn’t a traditional corporate HR role and requires someone who can handle tough conversations, navigate direct communication styles and balance business needs with employee advocacy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to manufacturing leadership, providing practical and business-aligned HR solutions.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations and performance management.
  • Support managers with workforce planning, coaching and compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Handle difficult conversations with confidence and fairness.
  • Promote a culture of respect, accountability and continuous improvement without unnecessary bureaucracy.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least five years in an executive HR role in manufacturing, industrial, construction or a similarly fast-paced environment.
  • Strong facilitation/influencing skills in a matrix environment. Capable of influencing and advising managers while ensuring policies are applied fairly and consistently.
  • Able to handle tough conversations and direct communication styles without being easily rattled.
  • Understands the need to support employees while also making sound business decisions.
  • Not afraid to roll up the sleeves and find practical HR solutions in a dynamic work setting.
  • Union experience is highly preferred.
