THE COMPANY

Our client is a provider of traffic control and pavement marking services.

THE POSITION

This position is responsible for the overall creation, development and maintenance of an effective Environmental, Health & Safety program for the entire organization and its projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the day-to-day safety operations.
  • Be versed in and lead all safety attributes including DOT compliance.
  • Audit and regularly visit operating sites, create a relationship with the staff on-site and select clients as a resource to help with whatever is needed.
  • Coordinate all activities of the field safety staff and train them for their positions.
  • Provide analysis of significant risk data to management by evaluating the effectiveness of initiatives through safety assessments and compiling and interpreting data to identify gaps. Develops and implements action plans as necessary to mitigate risks.
  • Define, implement and revise safety policies and procedures.
  • Be forward thinking and help to implement or create new strategies to improve safety performance.
  • Tech-minded to implement and utilize the technology at hand and implement new and more efficient technology for the operations of the business.
  • Overall EH&S program change management and communications to align with executive management, and functional leaders to ensure efficient and effective program implementation.
  • Continually adapt program structure, priorities and strategies to meet the needs of a dynamic, growing corporation through best-in-class EH&S programs.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Fifteen-plus years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 10 years of management experience.
  • Facility-level environmental, health and safety technical work in a utility, industrial or manufacturing operations environment.
  • Experience aligning strategy and operational execution with executive management.
  • Experience with continuous improvement culture.
  • Able to analyze complicated EH&S issues and summarize concisely for non-EH&S teammates.
