Vice President, Procurement -- Midwest (Closed)

THE POSITION

The Vice President of Procurement will lead and develop the procurement strategy to support the company’s global operations. This role involves strategic planning, supplier management, cost control, risk management and ensuring the procurement process aligns with the company’s overall objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop procurement and sourcing operations goals and objectives that are aligned with the enterprise vision, mission and guiding principles.
  • Lead and manage the global procurement team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop, encourage, and ensure adherence to all policies and contracts that support the overall business objectives of the company.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve the best terms and conditions.
  • Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and service levels.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain and procurement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
  • Measure and track key performance indicators, identify root causes of inefficiencies and create timely countermeasures as well as permanent corrective actions or process improvements.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or finance.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in procurement, with at least five years in a senior leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in global procurement and supply chain management, preferably with the APAC (mostly China) supplier community.
  • Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Experience building and leading a strategic procurement function in a managed service business.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and / or previous private equity experience.
