Vice President, Operations -- Northeast

THE COMPANY

Our client is a family-owned leading turnkey electronics manufacturing services company.

THE POSITION

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for setting and executing the overall strategy for operations, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. This role emphasizes embedding a safety-first culture, building a high-performance team focused on achieving key performance indicators and driving change management initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set overall strategy for operations that’s consistent with company strategy and tactics in line with the strategy.
  • Embed a safety-first culture and behavior within the operations function.
  • Build a high-performance team driven by a focus on hitting KPIs.
  • Drive change management.
  • Communicate with different groups, from the shop floor and the boardroom.
  • Safely deliver production on time and on std costs.
  • Implement process improvement to reduce standard hours including making capital investment and implement Lean process to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure quality standards are met doing it right at every step of the production process and drive error-proofing processes.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and programs.
  • Set and review production standards.
  • Creation and implementation of manufacturing methods, assembly tooling and fixtures.

SALARY RANGE
$215,000 – $235,000

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations management related field is strongly preferred; advanced degree is preferred.
  • Eight to 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing environments with a roll-up-the sleeves mentality in an engineered to ordered environment.
  • Solid KPI orientation and implementation.
  • Demonstrable operational excellence track record with a strong quality and safety background.
  • Demonstrable experience and ability to collaborate and lead high-performance teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading teams in environments with a strong mix of manual labor, assembly and automation utilizing Lean principles.
  • Successful and demonstrable change management track record.
  • Familiarity with compliance and certification requirements in a variety of industries.
  • Previous private equity-backed / family-owned experience is preferred.
