Vice President, OPERATIONS -- Midwest (Closed)

Our client is an artisan personal care and candle products e-commerce business.

THE POSITION

The position’s primary purpose is to provide leadership across the organization on supply chain initiatives. The VP will lead both high-priority strategic initiatives aligned with business strategy and the day-to-day operations of the company. They will collaborate closely across multiple business units ensuring alignment, support and accountability. The Vice President will build strong relationships with key stakeholders including sponsors, executives, vendors, business partners and employees across the company to secure organizational commitment for defined strategies and desired outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to have significant impact while reporting directly to the CEO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create the strategic plan for supply chain, procurement and logistics based on evolving business plans and market dynamics.
  • Determine overall optimal supply chain future state, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Lead, develop and coach the Supply Chain and Operations teams.
  • Develop a deep understanding of supplier capabilities and customer demand to strategically position and improve the company’s vendor management.
  • Develop and implement sourcing and purchasing tactics to reduce cost, improve speed-to-market and utilize the vendor base (scorecards, consolidation, LTAs, demand planning, etc.).
  • Leverage software capabilities (ERP system, SharePoint, etc.) to maximize visibility and manage day-to-day activities.
  • Evaluate best-in-class supply chain technology and infrastructure suitable to the scope and size of the business as well as scale for future growth.
  • Contribute to the technology strategy by identifying, assessing, and recommending external trends in technology and methodologies.
  • Own and deliver on the CAPEX and expense budgets for the Supply Chain teams.
  • Develop a multi-year plan for both investment and cost management.
  • Partner with cross functional owners to translate strategic objectives into a project roadmap including people, process and systems.
  • Build internal processes and procedures to support the professionalization of the supply chain.
  • Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks to measure success.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s in supply chain management, logistics, engineering or related field with relevant experience; MBA Preferred.
  • Ten-plus years of directly related experience working in distribution, sourcing and / or manufacturing.
  • Previous team leadership required.
  • Consumer products and ecommerce experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with financial modeling and analysis for supply chain management and P&L management.
