Vice President, Operations -- Midwest (Closed)

THE POSITION

The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations. The role includes driving the integration and assimilation of the acquired small businesses, creating a Lean operating model and cadence for current and newly acquired companies; and developing a culture and team that ensures the business operates smoothly. The VP will be responsible for getting the resources in place, connecting employees to the right persons within the company and arranging common actions between the business areas. Sequentially, the Vice President of Operations will work with senior leadership to establish a centralized manufacturing strategy (“super plants”) that makes sense for the business. The job holder will report directly to the President & CEO.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Integration and assimilation of current companies and lead the onboarding of new acquisitions.
  • Develop operational goals that are aggressive – yet obtainable – and tied closely to the long-term goals of the company
  • Foster change, incorporate innovation and implement strategies throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate common interests regarding infrastructure to support expansion.
  • Establish and coordinate reporting for vital metrics.
  • Nurture a collaborative environment, promote transparency and communicate positively and effectively.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree within a manufacturing discipline; master’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive manufacturing leadership experience in rapid growth environments that includes integrating new acquisitions. Specific experience in precast concrete or an industry requiring urgency of service is highly desirable.
  • Strong Lean experience with a proven ability to effect change and develop a rapid continuous improvement-empowered culture.
