Vice President, Distribution -- Southwest

THE POSITION

The Vice President of Distribution is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada. This role ensures efficient product flow, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery and adherence to safety and compliance regulations while driving continuous process improvements and leading large teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and direct operations teams across seven-plus distribution centers and light fabrication facilities in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across locations and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Define, implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including order fulfillment rates, inventory accuracy and shipping times across all locations.
  • Standardize and enforce operational procedures and best practices across facilities.
  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement optimization strategies.
  • Oversee the selection and rollout of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related systems.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and external partners to develop the future state distribution footprint, including site selection and launching new facilities.
  • Hire, train and develop warehouse leadership teams.
  • Implement strategies to ensure inventory accuracy and address discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely delivery to customers.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, customer service and procurement to streamline order fulfillment processes.
  • Optimize warehouse space utilization and storage layouts across locations.
  • Monitor adherence to quality standards and regulations related to product handling and storage.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Proven leadership and management experience overseeing large teams in a distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple locations effectively.
  • Expertise in WMS systems and operational metrics.
  • Experience with launching new distribution centers.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of logistics principles and supply chain management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, operations management or a related field is preferred.
