Sr. Manager, Demand Planning -- Northeast (Closed)

THE POSITION

The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the company's supply chain strategy, with a focus on ensuring the availability of goods to meet customer demand while managing inventory costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Lead and manage the supply planning team, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring the team is meeting performance objectives.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in forecasting demand, managing inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers for timely delivery of goods.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Sales, Marketing and Operations to ensure the company is meeting customer demand while minimizing costs.
  • Monitor key performance metrics, such as inventory turns; stock-outs; and service levels to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
  • Support the implementation of new ERP and planning systems and establish KPI reporting using new data platforms to understand and improve key supply chain metrics.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and agreements and ensure supplier performance meets expectations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize inventory levels and improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies and best practices in supply chain management – and use this knowledge to continuously improve the company's supply chain processes and strategies.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in supply chain management with at least five years in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data.
  • Experience with supply chain planning software and tools.
