Sr. Manager, Continuous Improvement -- Southeast (Closed)

THE COMPANY

Our client provides heating and cooling products and systems.

THE POSITION

The individual will plan, execute and facilitate projects and / or kaizen events in order to create a culture of continuous improvement and Lean processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Facilitates, trains, mentors and coaches team members and team leaders in the use of CI tools (standard work, total productive maintenance (TPM), quick changeover (QCO), poka yoke (mistake proofing), 5S, value stream mapping (VSM), failure mode effect analysis (FMEA), gemba walks, root cause analysis, process mapping, etc.) to drive improvements and build employee engagement.
  • Uses HQDC and PDCA to track, monitor and report on kaizen event status and monitors process improvement milestones to ensure on-time completion and sustainability.
  • Monitors existing and new processes for improvement opportunities in safety, quality, delivery and cost through Lean problem-solving methodology.
  • Provides business analysis, change management and project management in support of corporate initiatives.
  • Supports strategy deployment for strategic business priorities.
  • Verifies that new and modified processes are accurately documented.
  • Drives “best practices” in all areas of responsibility.
  • Leads and drives Lean transformation and change initiatives to create and sustain world-class, visually managed areas / departments for instantaneous recognition of waste in all areas.
  • Serves as a change facilitator and influences department leaders in the transformation to and / or in support of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; able to communicate in a direct, succinct manner internally to multiple levels of management.
  • Change agent who can influence without authority, partner with leaders to drive change, teach and train others and positively affect results.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related discipline.
  • Lean certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Lean practitioner with demonstrated evidence of sustained, successful Lean activities within specific value streams.
  • Understand and can implement, teach and model basic Lean concepts.
