Regional Lean Director

THE POSITION
The Director will be a key member of the region leadership team, partnering with best-in-class Lean practitioners and SME vendors to accelerate Lean transformation. This person will report to the Region President.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for deploying, leading and coaching Lean projects to improve productivity and performance utilizing Lean methodologies.
- Partner with the operating team to help achieve growth and profitability targets.
- Look after VSM, KPIs, kaizen calendar and action plan.
- Execute and coach the team on kaizen projects.
- Support the Monthly Operating Reviews (MOR).
- Own and co-develops Leader Standard Work (LSW).
- Develop and establish daily management and standard work across all facilities in the region.
- Lead and collaborate on Lean performance and process improvement projects throughout the organization, and mentor leadership toward continuous improvement.
- Assist teams in prioritizing improvements, making recommendations to functional leaders to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Change agent responsible for delivering performance excellence through execution of Lean initiatives and providing thoughtful coaching of functional standard work and problem solving.
- Coach leadership in developing and executing Lean plans to improve the customer experience areas and metrics.
- Lead and facilitate teams to produce effective communication regarding Lean processes and measurements consistent with strategic plans.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; master’s degree is desirable.
- A Lean expert with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in process improvement with at least five years coaching and leading process improvement teams in a multi-site Lean organization.
- Deep knowledge of and “hands-on” experience training.
- Exceptional consulting skills, especially in situations requiring persuading, negotiating, resolving conflict and advising.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments, understand underlying business principles, assess target audience and make strong recommendations.
- Able to drive strategic thinking and continuous improvement in both operational and non-operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams.
