Production Manager

The company is a provider of tactical and commercial accessories for trucks.
THE POSITION
Provides overall leadership of plant production operations. This includes supporting all aspects of safety, quality, delivery and cost by promoting continuous improvement of plant processes and procedures. This position also ensures the plant operates within customer product expectations and the company’s operating and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive workforce culture and assure all functions’ adherence to approved work policies, procedures and practices.
- Work in conjunction with VP of Operations to develop operational staff and plant performance in areas of Lean manufacturing.
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations.
- Work with Production Value Stream Managers (VSM) and other functional leaders to assure maximization of asset and resource utilization while minimizing unnecessary costs.
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
- Responsible for manufacturing, shipping, receiving, facilities, maintenance and inventory control.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Collect and analyze data to find and eliminate waste.
- Work with executive management team to assure workforce culture is strong, factory is properly equipped / maintained and the team is properly staffed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven work experience as a manufacturing, operations or production manager.
- Proven managerial experience with multi-shift direct reports.
- Understanding of a variety of operational excellence competencies including but not limited to: Lean Manufacturing, Visual Management, Value Stream mapping, Standard Work, Policy Deployment, One-piece Flow, 5S, Kaizen, SMED, Kanban and Poke Yoke.
