Plant Manager

Our client is a provider of air distribution, critical controls and noise control products.
THE POSITION
Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Manager for its 400-person manufacturing facility. This position will report to the SVP / General Manager, oversee the entire plant operations and will be responsible for the development and execution of strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and direct the entire plant operation.
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet or exceed production and customer expectations.
- Organize, develop and implement manufacturing processes that drive Lean manufacturing principles and deliver measurable results.
- Increase production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
- Allocate resources to efficiently optimize facility utilization.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction, understanding and focus to the team members.
- Monitor operations, identify problems and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collect and analyze data to determine areas of waste and/or overtime.
- Maintain a commitment to plant safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and utilize systems and processes that track and optimize productivity standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure an effective return on assets.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Twelve-plus years of progressive experience in a rapid-growth manufacturing environment with at least five years in a leadership capacity. Experience in a high mix/low volume, complex sheet metal environment is highly preferred.
- Experience driving Lean/Toyota Production System and a strong grasp of the Lean tools and concepts including Visual Floor Management, Standard Work, Kaizen, Hoshin, SMED, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems, Flow Systems, Jidoka, A3, TPM, etc.
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to mentor and build consensus. Leads by personal example and acts like an owner rather than an employee.
- A background that includes advanced problem solving, driving/maintaining a proactive safety culture.
- Strong communication skills, empathetic of culture and tolerant of others.
