Plant Manager

Our client is a leading manufacturer of air distribution products.
THE POSITION
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and direct the entire plant operation.
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet or exceed production and customer expectations.
- Organize, develop and implement manufacturing processes that drive Lean manufacturing principles and deliver measurable results.
- Increase production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
- Allocate resources to efficiently optimize facility utilization.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction, understanding and focus to the team members.
- Monitor operations, identify problems and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collect and analyze data to determine areas of waste and / or overtime.
- Maintain a commitment to plant safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and utilize systems and processes that track and optimize productivity standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure an effective return on assets.
- Address employee issues or grievances as needed and administer the plant’s collective bargaining agreement.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; manufacturing or industrial preferred.
- Five to eight years of experience in a manufacturing operation
- History of driving Lean in an organization.
- Familiarity with industry’s standard equipment and technical expertise.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a sense of urgency and a strong aptitude.
- Experience in a job shop or manufacturing environment that must expand, contract or shift focus to cover month-to-month requirements.
