Site Director -- Southeast (Closed)

THE COMPANY

Our client is a provider of distance learning science products and curriculum.

THE POSITION

The Site Director will report to the COO and be the site leader of the location’s operations, having full day-to-day responsibility overseeing the production facilities and plant operations including manufacturing, quality assurance, scheduling, inventory control, materials procurement and people management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage work priorities and timelines while allocating resources to assure assigned plant goals and timelines are met. This includes planning production operations, establishing sequences for manufacturing products and management of labor resources, including temporary staff.
  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
  • Lead and develop a strong daily management process using the Lean Daily Management framework with factory team to deliver operational KPIs and business financials.
  • Lead, coach and train employees toward Lean manufacturing concepts and foster environment for an empowered, high-performance plant.
  • Responsible for meeting customer / business needs and creating raving fans of the business.
  • Responsible for developing direct reports and coaching them to grow.
  • Ability to anticipate, negotiate and manage conflicts, problems, changing situations and deadlines.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Proven, hands-on leader who has demonstrated the ability to manage production, project management, purchasing, quality and engineering.
  • Embrace a variety of Lean Manufacturing and TQM (Total Quality Management) competencies including Root Cause Analysis (5-why), short-term containment and long-term corrective action.
  • Demonstrate a history of decision making that’s driven by careful analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Creative problem solver with the ability to break up complex problems into workable pieces and manage complex cross-functional projects.
