THE POSITION

This position is a senior operations leadership role that will organizationally report to the Site Director. The individual will be accountable for achieving fabrication and assembly performance milestones across two sites located in the Midwest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish, codify, implement and measure processes and process controls around safety, quality, cost, schedule and employee engagement.
• Identify and enhance current operational processes that produce best-in-class quality and ultimate customer satisfaction.
• Lead, manage and hold the team accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments.
• Coach, inspire and break down silos across the organization.
• From an operational viewpoint, define “where we are” and “where we want to go.”
• Set the vision and develop the plan to achieve the vision.
• Run day-to-day Operations with an obsession for organizational clarity and effective communication.
• Lead with a focus on organizational excellence, individual excellence and a culture of respect and openness.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 15 years in progressive manufacturing roles with a background in heavy metal fabrication that includes a high degree of customization.
• A successful track record of having led a Lean manufacturing transformation and a passion for continuous improvement, Lean thinking, process flow and velocity.
• A clear communicator with the ability to build strong relationships based on trust at all levels of the organization.
• Must appreciate systems and metrics and be both willing and capable of holding others accountable, and coaching them around those accountabilities.
• Must be an engaged and working Operations leader.
