Director, Supply Chain -- Northeast (Closed)

THE POSITION

Director, Supply Chain is accountable for successfully leading and executing the overall planning requirements. This position will work closely with the leadership team to enhance, develop and implement system, process and organizational improvements to reduce lead-time and maintain on-time delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for all aspects of planning that lead to reduction of lead-times, increased OTDIF and successful materials management within established inventory and cost parameters.
  • Lead the production scheduling team to forecast demand and create supply plans that ensure availability of materials, labor and capacity.
  • Improve scheduling processes; upstream requirements visibility to purchasing and internal component suppliers; downstream availability visibility to customer service and sales; and alignment of the schedule to the S&OP plan and current MRP situation.
  • Lead daily management of KPIs for supply chain to increase visibility and drive improvement.
  • Champion collaborative environment with accountability that assures effective planning and execution within the planning team and partnering across other supply chain and operations functions. Successfully coach team and drive educational growth opportunities through team.
  • Analyze capacity constraints and facilitate needs to meet requirements for both a make-to-order and make-to-stock demand.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain advanced planning techniques at the plant level, and be responsible for the continuous improvement of SAP planning tools.
  • Regularly go on gemba walks with the production team to ensure standard work is followed and identify opportunities for improvement.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business or related fields or equivalent working experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in professional Supply Chain position(s) with a minimum of four years supervisory / managerial experience.
  • Five-plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in make-to-stock and make-to-order manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP ERP, business analytics, Lean manufacturing and demand forecasting software.
  • Demonstrated competency in sales and operations planning (S&OP) and scheduling procedures, strategic thinking and leadership, with strong capabilities in relationship management with customers, vendors and employees at all levels.
