Maintenance Manager -- Mountain West (closed)

The company is a producer of plastic packaging solutions.

THE POSITION

Manage all aspects of facility availability maintenance and repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures and reinforces the exercise of the Health & Safety Program.
  • Services and maintains machines on site. Ensures preventive maintenance is performed; machine breakdowns are repaired; a record of maintenance is current and accurate; and all relevant machines and devices are updated according to company standards.
  • Ensures a sound spare part warehouse and maintains good housekeeping.
  • Manages contractors on site.
  • Ensures all employees understand and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Leads a 10-person team: Ensures team works together as efficiently as possible; assesses training needs of staff and ensures execution of training; provides an active personal development culture for all employees in the plant; ensures staff are brought in to cover absenteeism and holidays; and correctly records time and attendance of team.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Ten-plus years of equipment / maintenance experience in a busy, automated, manufacturing environment with at least three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with computer control, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and mastery of a variety of Lean / Six Sigma / CI tools.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to build consensus; leads by example.
