Maintenance Manager -- Mid-South (Closed)

Our client is a provider of plastic packaging solutions.

THE POSITION

Manage all aspects of facility availability maintenance and repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures and reinforces the exercise of the Health and Safety Program
  • Services and maintains machines on site, ensuring preventive maintenance is performed. Ensures machine breakdowns are repaired and there’s a current and accurate record of maintenance.
  • Ensures all relevant machines and devices are updated according to company standards. Serves as the main contact of the Operational Technology Integration Specialist to ensure devices are updated and configurated.
  • Ensures a sound spare part warehouse and good housekeeping. Ensures availability of spare parts.
  • Manages contractors on site.
  • Ensures all employees understand and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Leads a 10-person team: Ensures team works together as efficiently as possible. Assesses training needs of staff and ensures execution of training.
  • Provides an active personal development culture for all employees in the plant.
  • Ensures staff are brought in to cover absenteeism and holidays.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Ten-plus years of equipment / maintenance experience in a busy, automated, manufacturing environment with at least three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with computer control, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. A background in plastics EBM/SBM/Injection Molding or similar industry is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and mastery of a variety of Lean / Six Sigma / CI tools.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to build consensus.
  • Leads by personal example and acts like an owner rather than an employee.
