General Manager -- Southwest (Closed)

THE COMPANY

Our client is hair bleach and related products manufacturer.

THE POSITION

The General Manager will be responsible for P&L, driving operational excellence; quality; performance improvement; and standardization across the organization. This person will lead the team to eliminate non-value-added activities with relentless focus on continuous process improvement, problem solving and change management. The leader will seamlessly balance these responsibilities as well as adeptly move, when necessary, from strategic thinking to practical application while “rolling up the sleeves” to get things done.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead cross-functional business initiatives that identify and eliminate waste and improve organizational effectiveness, process improvements, speed and efficiency across the organization.
  • Simplify processes and remove complexity. Understand all parts of the organization and how their decisions impact processes and production capabilities.
  • Drive consistency around best practices and daily operation.
  • Ability to lead others who do not report to you to implement strategies and processes that will accomplish business results.
  • Be an agent of change by demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to change processes.
  • Drive a vision for the evolution of operations, implementing a best-in-class strategic roadmap.
  • Work cross functionally to develop and review all policies and procedures and challenge business practices to improve performance and throughput; anticipate future needs so the business achieves the highest level of operational compliance, consistency and accountability.
  • Set the tone for compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Represent a catalyst for change and an urgency across the organization; manage and execute new initiatives regularly in a positive, constructive manner to ensure rapid acceptance of new ways of doing business.
  • Develop and implement reporting and training tools to maximize effectiveness.
  • Be a safety leader.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fifteen-plus years of related professional experience; five-plus years managing a full P&L.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; MBA a plus.
  • Experience designing, implementing and leading continuous improvement projects and programs.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of cycle time reduction, waste reduction, yield improvement, productivity and throughput improvement.
