General Manager -- Southwest (Closed)

THE COMPANY

Our client is a textile and apparel rental service in healthcare.

THE POSITION

The General Manager has P&L responsibility and is primarily responsible for getting the right people to do the right things with clear accountabilities and metrics. The primary goal is delivering existing account revenue at or below budgeted expense per piece.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver the highest levels of customer service through expert inventory management and frequent and productive customer communication.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement to meet production and financial objectives, improve safety performance and operate clean and orderly facilities.
  • Lead up to 200 full-time associates operating out of locations with revenues of more than $100 million annually.
  • Manage a facility that processes more than 200,000 pounds of healthcare textiles each week.
  • Manage field service operations, including up to 30 daily routes that provide service to more than 1,500 customers each week.
  • Create a high-performing and highly engaged culture that attracts and retains the best people.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of production requirements while driving costs out of the system through productivity and process improvements.
  • Take ownership of key metrics including associate engagement, customer loyalty, financial performance, and safety.
  • P&L responsibility includes revenues, payroll, merchandise costs, fleet expense and other expenses.
  • Reports to the Vice President of Operations, and direct reports include Regional Service Directors, Regional Director of Major Accounts, Plant Manager(s), Continuous Improvement Manager and Operations Coordinator.
  • Up to 50 percent travel is required (mostly regional).

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven track record of serving in a general management and / or operations leadership role for a growing business with P&L responsibility and a large group of associates.
  • Experience in textile laundering and / or the medical field is a plus.
  • Direct line leadership responsibility for major functions including multi-shift plant production / maintenance and field service operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to build strong teams and credibility through significant results and relationship building with customers and colleagues.
