General Manager -- Mid-South (Closed)

The company is a leading automotive systems and components manufacturer.

THE POSITION

The General Manager has overall accountabilities for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the assigned plant, including continuous improvements. This position is accountable for ensuring customer expectations are met and the standards of quality, accounting, administration and plant management – including budgets – are maintained consistently and in accordance with best practices and company guidelines and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the manufacturing of quality parts according to customer requirements, established schedules, company policy and industrial standards.
  • Resolve plant issues to meet all objectives, including efficiencies, quality standards, safety standards, customer service levels, employee engagement and plant absolute / net attainment.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement in all areas by engaging, empowering and enabling the workforce.
  • Ensure all employees receive adequate training and follow quality and safety procedures and requirements.
  • Create, foster and maintain a work environment where equality, fairness and non-discriminatory practices are consistently maintained.
  • Responsible for employee development, including coaching and developing managers, setting goals, monitoring performance and ensuring all employees are provided with regular feedback.
  • Ensure effective communications at all levels – including leading employee meetings – to keep employees informed of matters that affect them.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree or minimum 10 years of related experience and / or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment (or similar industry) at a manager level.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementation skills.
