Factory Director -- Midwest

THE POSITION

The Factory Director is responsible for managing the overall manufacturing operations and staff, focusing on implementing continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Key responsibilities include integrating Lean manufacturing principles, ensuring safety and compliance and executing product development strategies to improve cost and performance. This role involves coaching and developing team members, optimizing working capital and supporting global and domestic initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct overall manufacturing operations of the organization and staff involved in the operations of the factory, including SIOP process.
  • Implement continuous improvement methodologies to increase productivity and reduce costs following the Integrated Transformer Management System (ITM) to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Develop programs, projects, goals and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations. Collaborate with HUB ITM team to integrate Lean manufacturing principles into production processes.
  • Develop and execute plans to reduce non-value-added costs, increase revenues and delight customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates. Ensure that ITM maturity development training and methods are implemented into the organization.
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment for employees. Ensure compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results.
  • Assess risks and safety hazards and implement plans to ensure people and equipment safety.
  • Execute product development strategies for improving cost position and product performance.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering or technical undergraduate degree; MBA preferred.
  • Prior factory management experience in a union environment.
  • Sixteen years of experience with a minimum of seven years in leadership.
  • Lean / Six Sigma transformational experience.
  • Preferred P&L responsibility experience.
