THE POSITION

The Director enjoys and owns responsibility for the sourcing side of supply chain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, create and implement an integrated sourcing organization that leverages both leading supply chain thinking and Lean methodology with traditional MRP processes to reduce error, eliminate waste and achieve world-class performance.
• Accountable for driving continuous improvement efforts in purchasing to create consistent end-to-end process improvement.
• Ensure the fundamentals of supply chain discipline are operating effectively then help drive improvement in Lean supply chain KPIs.
• Drives optimization of all supply chain activities with a special focus on new program development and supplier sourcing. This includes supplier identification and qualification, supplier quality and line-side supply and pull system arrangements.
• Work with the Supply Chain team to minimize one-off solutions to problems and process. Develop and deploy standard work and continuous improvement ideas across the business.
• Use your familiarity with injection molding, chrome plating, die casting and related tooling to bring subject matter expertise to the team.
• Support new product development (NPD) projects by leading supplier selection RFQs, cost negotiation and supplier capability assessments.
