Director, Americas Strategic Sourcing -- Northeast (Closed)

THE POSITION

The Director is in a leadership role in a regional / multi-site setting to direct and implement a best-in-class sourcing center of excellence (COE) strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and deploy a strategy for lowering company costs (yielding favorable PPV) and minimizing company risk strategy.
  • Analyze spend; determine optimal sourcing strategies; and establish competitive bidding, negotiation and terms and conditions requirements.
  • Lead a team of sourcing associates and manage / assign resources to drive an organized approach and corresponding KPIs that yields cost synergies, supplier categorization and consolidation.
  • Oversee technology needs and create a technology roadmap to drive the sourcing function toward excellence.
  • Define and document standard processes, procedures and templates that drive success in all sourcing areas.
  • Responsible for the company’s total spend and will work to absorb and incorporate additional spend generated by inorganic growth.
  • Drive and execute short-term and long-term strategic activities,.
  • Demonstrate a balance between both a macro view to leverage opportunities and disciplined execution through productivity within the sourcing function.
  • The team’s primary focus will be strategic supply chain operations, including supplier cost reductions, consolidation efforts, near shoring activities and localization.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ten-plus years of procurement / sourcing experience.
  • Seven-plus years of experience managing a team.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing, negotiation, supplier evaluation, commercial contract understanding, risk mitigation and commodity market.
  • Proven track record of driving and adapting to change in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in driving and managing strategic projects.
  • Experience as a global leader for all spend, sourcing development and supplier metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, engineering, business or other related discipline.
