THE POSITION
The Director, S&OP will oversee the development and execution of the company’s S&OP strategy. This person will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that the company has a well-coordinated and integrated plan to meet customer demand while optimizing the company’s resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and lead the S&OP process – including demand planning, supply planning and inventory management – to ensure accurate and efficient forecasting, production planning and inventory control.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain, to ensure that all teams are aligned and working toward common goals.
- Analyze data and use insights to identify trends, issues and opportunities related to demand, supply and inventory – and make recommendations to the leadership team on how to address them.
- Build and manage a team of professionals responsible for executing the S&OP process, including hiring, training and developing team members.
- Ensure that the company’s sales and operations plans are aligned with the company's financial goals and objectives, and that the plans are communicated effectively throughout the organization.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to S&OP, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns and service levels – and make recommendations for improvement
- Continuously improve the S&OP process and tools, including implementing new technologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations or related field; MBA or equivalent degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in Operations in a consumer goods or related industry with responsibility for S&OP, demand planning and forecasting functions.
- Strong understanding of forecast planning, sales cycles and inventory management.
- Invokes trust, collaboration, shared accountability and continuous improvement with the ability to quickly develop trust and loyalty at all levels in the organization and with external constituents.
