Our client is a private equity backed provider of radio and satellite communications solutions.
THE POSITION
The Director is primarily responsible for all operations activities and financial performance of the facility. The role drives the day-to-day operation and establishes the strategic direction for the business, including the annual plans and budgets for the production / manufacturing facility and coordinates the local cross-functional activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets and ensures the entire site complies with HSE standards and goals.
- Implements and strengthens existing programs, such as safety culture change; behavioral based safety programs; and tools to reduce the risk of human errors.
- Responsible for supporting and overseeing the overall operational performance for the site.
- Leads and supports the implementation of continuous improvement programs based on Lean.
- Drives the implementation and continuous improvement of an effective and sustainable Sales Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process integrating project pipeline; resource demands; manufacturing and purchased supply planning; and end-to-end project life cycle management into a common plan.
- Leads planning efforts to assess performance against SQDIP targets to identity performance trends and develop appropriate solutions to eliminate risk-based trends and optimize favorable trends.
- In collaboration with the local team, will define a multi-year plan for maintenance and CAPEX needs.
- Provides leadership and oversite of the local Supply Chain organization and the local Logistics team to ensure availability of raw materials with ability to meet customer timelines.
- Leads the local production / manufacturing team consisting of production, maintenance, EHS, logistics, procurement, Lean and quality.
SALARY RANGE
$175,000 -- $225,000
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A seasoned operational leader with extensive experience driving QDI.
- Ten-plus year track record of being hands on at running successful production / manufacturing facilities, implementing successful Lean programs with value-stream mapping; kaizen events; material flow; 5S; visual factory, etc.
- A Lean practitioner / MLP certified.
- Proven experience with implementation of continuous improvement projects.
- Superior leadership skills with the proven ability to effectively manage and develop a diverse team of people.
