Director of Procurement -- Northeast (Closed)

THE POSITION

The Director of Procurement is responsible for the strategy and governance of all sourcing and activities to include COGS, MRO and services. Success in this role will be dependent on the ability to effectively engage and influence operational leadership to drive execution workflows; best practices; strategic supplier relationships; continuous improvement in people, process and technology; and YOY improvements in service performance, quality and cost savings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Procurement & Sourcing operations goals and objectives that are aligned with the enterprise vision, mission and guiding principles.
  • Measure and track key performance indicators, identify root causes of inefficiencies and create timely countermeasures as well as permanent corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Identify, manage and respond to any domestic and regional-specific supplier requirements.
  • Primary negotiator and contracts reviewer for all sourcing activities to direct spend, MRO and services. Provide summary and recommendations for contractual decisions.
  • Develop the reporting and data analysis for the Procurement & Sourcing activities; measure and track the value that is delivered to the business units.
  • Optimize supplier relationships by understanding the terms and pricing of supplier contracts, defining buying channels and ensuring compliance to purchasing policies.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in supply chain, engineering or finance.
  • At least 15 years of increasing levels of responsibilities in Operations, Sourcing and Procurement experience, preferably in the CPG space.
  • Beauty, cosmetic and / or CPG experience is a must.
  • Private equity ownership experience is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing of high-volume plastic components and the respective manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge and relationship with the supplier community for components, raw materials and contract manufacturing of a broad range of personal care products and secondary packaging services.
