THE POSITION

The Director of Manufacturing Engineering will lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers, build a New Product Introduction team and set the vision for long-term success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluating manufacturing competencies for vertical integration, working with equipment suppliers to deliver manufacturing lines and driving design for manufacturing (DFM) at the earliest stages of product introduction / design.
  • Defining, monitoring and continuously improving factory OEE and throughput while maintaining world-class safety, quality and cost KPIs.
  • Developing a world-class Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Partnering with the Digital team to develop and implement systems on the factory floor from ERP and MES to hourly performance dashboards for operators.
  • Defining and developing MBOM and supporting a “plan for every part” with detailed operation, subcontract routing and strict change control.
  • Leading engineering efforts to develop standards and procedures for the company’s physical processes.
  • Leading the development, implementation and process of manufacturing parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Designing and creating manufacturing processes that support customer creation.
  • Working closely with engineering, quality and production.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years in a manufacturing environment serving in progressive technical roles, with at least four years in a leadership capacity.
  • Specific experience manufacturing complex products with regulatory requirements (medical, automotive, aerospace, etc.).
  • Background leading and building from-scratch business workflows and system integrations across the design and manufacturing domains.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles and demonstrated success with continuous improvement.
