Director of Engineering -- Midwest (Closed)

THE COMPANY

Our client is a food importer and supplier.

THE POSITION

This role will provide leadership and direction for capacity planning; project identification and development; project management; process optimization; equipment maintenance and reliability; facilities management; and sustainability initiatives across the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Have overall responsibility of all manufacturing and warehouse locations.
  • Help lead the organization that develops capital plans, improves processes, reduces equipment downtime and maintains facilities and infrastructure.
  • Using continuous improvement tools, lead projects to improve equipment cleanliness, debottleneck processes, improve throughput, reduce waste and decrease costs.
  • Develop and assure compliance with design standards.
  • Lead the team to assure compliance with safety, quality and sanitary design standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring and promoting operational safety, environmental protection and employee health / industrial hygiene within a project.
  • Responsible for the development of Standard Operating Procedures that detail operations of new equipment or revises SOPs to reflect changes to operations as a result of modifications to existing equipment.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. in mechanical / chemical / electrical engineering or equivalent with at least 10 years of manufacturing, engineering and / or operations experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Must have experience in project, process and process control systems.
  • Experience with Powder Blending, Milling, Batching and Packaging.
  • Excellent leadership, management, motivation and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to influence others and drive change without direct ownership.
