Director, Continuous Improvement -- Northeast (Closed)

A leading processor and fabricator of copper products.

THE POSITION

The successful candidate will lead continuous improvement and productivity project management across all product lines at multiple locations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate existing Lean / CI talent and implement the Lean Promotion Office (LPO) at the plants.
  • Facilitate top-down initiatives into defined projects across plant footprint; train Plant Managers and CI Managers to cascade into their sites.
  • Set up Drive Execution for the Project Management Office Structure to execute both hoshin and bottoms up projects to drive four-to-five percent productivity.
  • Facilitate and train on tier board development and execution for managing for daily improvement; drive accountability down the leadership tiers.
  • Should have personally led many kaizens in prior roles; able to deeply coach Plant Managers & CI Managers on when / how to use.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in industrial or manufacturing engineering; minimum eight years of related experience in relevant manufacturing environment.
  • Formal training or extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing and six sigma.
  • Candidate needs to be able to work across multiple teams and disciplines and be a dedicated team player. Additionally, must have proven experience as project manager and a natural authority in leading teams.
  • Familiarity with principles of Lean supervision and training. Experience evaluating Lean talent and the use of effective adult learning delivery techniques.
  • Prior manufacturing operations / value stream leadership experience is highly desirable.
