Our client is a roofing and waterproofing manufacturer.

THE POSITION

As a key member of the Executive Leadership team, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) will oversee end-to-end Operations, from supply chain optimization through the delivery of finished products. The COO will oversee procurement, logistics and inventory management, lead and oversee its diverse network of manufacturing plants and evolve the company’s operations strategy. The COO will champion process excellence, technological innovation and digital transformation, building a more sustainable and resilient Operations organization. This COO will take a strategic approach to capital investment, talent development, technology deployment and process optimization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute a future-forward supply chain and manufacturing strategy that integrates digital transformation and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Balance daily operational excellence with the successful execution of high-priority savings and growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to design an operations strategy that enhances customer experience, increases productivity and optimizes working capital.
  • Lead the day-to-day Operations of 30-plus Residential & Commercial roofing manufacturing plants.
  • Drive network-wide improvements in operational performance through Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies – standardizing and streamlining to enhance efficiency, flexibility and responsiveness across the network.
  • Build and develop a high-performing, accountable team that drives operational excellence and accelerates profitable growth.
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships (HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, IT, R&D, Engineering) to drive superior customer outcomes and business value.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, business administration, supply chain management or a related field; advances degree or certifications preferred (MBA, Six Sigma Black Belt, CMfgE).
  • Proven track record managing high-mix, multi-site industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in driving large-scale change management initiatives within manufacturing operations.
  • Strong background in raw materials management, supply chain operations and capital project execution.
  • Extensive experience implementing operational excellence programs using Lean principles and digital technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of advanced manufacturing solutions, including Braincube, Maximo, Augury and SAP S4/HANA.
  • Successful history of executing cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or efficiency.
