Our client is an industrial manufacturer.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for leading SEC financial reporting, supporting external audit and the quarterly review process for its subsidiaries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary owner of the POC (Percent of Completion) for each subsidiary and the parent.
- Lead the development and refinement of financial and operational reports.
- Review monthly account analyses and reconciliations.
- Support the external audit and quarterly review process.
- Lead the company’s SEC reporting function, owning the preparation and filing of SEC documents.
- Prepare key SEC reporting disclosures, including the MD&A, cash flow statement and earnings per share.
- Partner with other business members to prepare external communications and presentation materials, including earnings releases and investor presentations.
- Research and resolve complex SEC and US GAAP reporting issues and document technical positions and policies.
- Analyze internal control compliance gaps and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Participate in the development and tracking of capital and operating budgets.
- Lead and mentor the team of accountants reporting to the Controller.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field; MBA and / or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of accounting experience in a publicly traded defense or aerospace job shop environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Percentage of Completion Method, US GAAP and SEC reporting.
