Chief Supply Chain Officer -- Southeast (Closed)

THE COMPANY

Our client is an omni-channel provider of aftermarket products and services in the watersports industry.

THE POSITION

The Chief Supply Chain Officer will provide strategic thought leadership, influence and hands-on engagement to create an integrated Lean supply chain for the enterprise. This senior executive will develop and implement the supply chain strategy while integrating operations, processes and systems across the company’s retail operations and supply chain network. This individual will drive operational excellence throughout the organization targeting lowest total delivered cost while maintaining exceptional quality standards and achieving world-class Lean operational metrics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a member of the executive team, drive net productivity while supporting revenue growth to increase gross margins over the current strategic plan horizon.
  • Assess the retail (brick and mortar and ecommerce) network and supply chain footprint to maximize asset utilization across business units.
  • Drive process and optimize operational strategy initiatives across the enterprise to reduce supplier risk, improve lead times, improve quality and maintain a competitive advantage in customer service.
  • Drive working capital efficiencies through the supply chain achieving year-over-year performance improvements in inventory and working capital management.
  • Manage the business system and continuous improvement programs across the enterprise, tracking and reporting on cost savings; cost avoidance; and operational efficiency gains on a routine basis.
  • Manage a direct team of leaders across the DC network, transportation and S&OP.
  • Build culture of excellence in quality standards and systems, metrics and reporting.
  • Provide leadership in driving overall execution of lower freight costs, on-time delivery, network optimization, quality and safety.
  • Ability to strategically review, plan perform due diligence and integrate the operational assets of acquisition candidates.
  • Install world-class Environmental Health and Safety systems, processes and standards across the enterprise that protect the workforce and the environment and exceed industry standards.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 15 to 20 years of overall experience is required, including at least five-plus years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Leadership in a global retail operations and supply chain environment within a consumer-focused company.
  • Deep understanding of digital technology, customer experience and marketing will be important.
  • Demonstrated world-class Lean skills.
  • ERP implementation experience.
  • Experience leading logistics and transportation, including 3PLs, in an environment where network optimization is critical.
