THE POSITION
The Chief Operating Officer position provides global leadership, management and the strategic vision necessary to ensure that the company achieves its short-term and long-term objectives. The position is accountable to meet expectations and ensure the proper operational processes, systems and people effectively grow the organization and improve financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, collaborative and energetic style that’s guided by the vision, mission and values of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Elevate operational execution performance through improvements in skills, people, culture, process, data, tools, equipment and facilities.
- Lean culture deployment and champion.
- Overall responsibility for leading Global Operations organization, including the functions and facilities necessary to deliver revenue and improve gross margin.
- Ensure a Supply Chain organization capable of meeting global challenges to have materials on-time / in-full, develop suppliers, strategically insource and outsource, execute industry-leading SIOP and fulfillment capabilities.
- Provide day-to-day leadership that mirrors the adopted mission, vision and values of the organization.
- Budget planning and allocation; ensuring transparent cost monitoring and reporting.
- Work with Executive Leadership, Finance organization and your team to establish annual operating and capital budgets.
- Build a culture of customer empathy and passion toward positive customer experience.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or MS degree in engineering or associated discipline preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of operational leadership experience, with five years of executive experience as a VP or COO, leading multiple locations and a diverse group of operational and support functions including manufacturing operations, supply chain, quality and continuous improvement.
- Ability to support complex global and domestic supply chain, forecasting and SIOP challenges.
- Change agent with a background leading multiple continuous improvement process and culture transformations in manufacturing organizations.
- Must have a track record of successfully applying a variety of operational excellence competencies such as Lean Manufacturing, theory of constraints, visual management, value stream mapping, standard work, policy deployment, one-piece flow, 5S, kaizen, etc.
