Key Accountabilities:
The Vice President Transformational Lean will be responsible for refinement and deployment of the company's Fulfillment System philosophy, similar to the Toyota Production System philosophy in the corporation worldwide. A Lean transformation is well underway and the individual chosen will be responsible for taking the system to the next level resulting in a global Lean transformation that will become the benchmark for others in the industry. The transformation will support the spirit and purpose of the company which is to create value that increases customers’ competitiveness. He or she will work with corporate, business and site leadership to implement the Lean strategy.
The Vice President Transformational Lean will work with a globally networked team of Lean professionals within the corporation to support all business operations and to ensure that the Lean strategy identifies large scale improvement opportunities and delivers results. The Vice President Transformational Lean will be responsible for communicating the goals and objectives of Lean activities and for providing a system for the ongoing measurement of results of Lean activities as the company moves towards multiple improved future states.
In addition to the manufacturing operations, the Vice President Transformational Lean will also be responsible for extending Lean into the transactional areas of the company such as Finance, IT, and HR and will be a key decision maker and driver in the expansion of the company's FS into the supply base.
The Vice President Transformational Lean will be responsible for providing the overall guidance and direction for the various Lean training and developmental needs of the organization and will be a key member of the corporate group that shapes the desired future culture of the corporation. Working in close partnership with business and corporate leadership, he or she will ensure that transformation Lean techniques are deployed consistently across the entire enterprise recognizing that Lean maturity levels vary across the company. The VP of Transformational Lean will ensure that best practices are aggressively shared and put into practice across the enterprise. .
This position requires a blend of multiple competencies which ultimately leads to getting improved business performance by enabling the talents and competencies of the entire workforce being harnessed in an efficient and productive manner. The individual must be both a credible teacher (from the shop floor to the executive level), and effective internal consultant, a thought leader, and be capable of developing and executing Lean strategies. He or she must be capable of influencing decisions at all levels of the organization. Excellent communication skills are essential.
The Vice President Lean Enterprise will be responsible for exemplifying in his or her daily behavior a total commitment to creating value for the customer and showing respect for people. He/she will be responsible for leading and articulating how to transform an operation from conventional mass-manufacturing methodologies to the Toyota Production System style philosophy through fact-based decisions where impact to the bottom line can be measured.
Experience Required:
• We seek a seasoned executive with experience leading, influencing and executing a Lean enterprise strategy across a multibillion, multinational manufacturing organization. The candidate must demonstrate through past experience the ability to develop and play a hands-on leadership role in executing a Lean strategy across complex, matrixed organizations doing so in such a manner that it yields long-term sustainable improvements.
• Lean systems education will have been received from a reputable source such as Toyota, Nissan, Shingijutsu Consulting, or other reputable companies that have the recognition for being successful operating a Lean enterprise. Extensive implementation experience of following techniques (but not limited to) is required: 5S, FMEA, Heijunka, Visual Workplace, Standardized Work, Cellular Manufacturing, Kaizen, SMED, Single piece flow, TPM.
• The successful candidate will have 15 years of experience in manufacturing with at least ten years of experience working in companies that embrace the principles of the Toyota Production System (TPS).
• The successful candidate will be a committed lifelong learner with a passion to share knowledge and learnings with others. The ability to develop team-based learning work environments along with the appropriate structure is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree
In addition, the following experience is preferred:

• Heightened awareness of cultural diversity from country to country and the ability to authentically engage, interact, and connect based on that knowledge from the shop floor to executive levels of the organization.
